You’ve discovered a new addition to our dryer venting line.  This wall vent is unlike anything else on the market.  Having been in R & D for over a year, this vent features a powder coated galvanized metal frame and a lightweight damper that is innovatively impenetrable to birds and creates zero back pressure
Works great for new construction but was designed for ease in retrofitting the old inefficient legacy hooded vents.

Unlike legacy and “Mainstream” wall vents, our Dryer Wall Vent is without hesitation a "Premium" fitting.

Efficient: Without question, vent hood design or lack of, clearly remains the leading offender of inefficient back pressure levels in the dryers’ exhaust conduit.  Actual laboratory test best demonstrate the range of back pressure levels that popular wall vents create.  Values above .60 water column inch are considered in the industry as excessively restrictive.  Values below .20 water column inch are considered very efficient.

The Dryer Wall Vent’s restriction coefficient is lower than any other wall vent we’ve tested. Less restriction in a dryer vent delivers real savings to your monthly energy bill.

Damper: Dryer vent hoods come in multiple styles.  The objective of a vent hood for the dryer is basically two fold; prevent back drafts and prevent bird or rodent entry as well as nest building.  We meet those objectives with a well-engineered lightweight damper that

• Mitigates the ability for a bird to open the damper
• Provides no Air-flow restriction
• And is easily accessible to duct cleaners

Design: The Dryer Wall Vent collar is sized to fit snuggly within the standard 4” seamed pipe.  This feature becomes an advantage to installers and DIY's when retrofitting this vent but also accommodates new construction.

Material: Sun and weather take a toll on plastic vents, and the typical aluminum hooded vents dent and deform easily.  The stylish Dryer Wall Vent body is constructed out of Paint Grip (Bonderized) steel, then washed and powder coated to achieve an excessively weather tolerant and strong uni-body.  The securing screws are hidden behind the damper.

The Dryer Wall Vent works with lap siding, stucco, brick and many other conventional sidings.  The non powder coated hinge pin is aluminum to offer total corrosion-free protection.

Questions and Answers View all Q&A
Q: How well does this prevent back drafts? I have seen some with a rubber piece the door closes onto and this looks like metal on metal.
Asked by:  - 7/30/2014 (Submit an answer)
A: The damper has a few features that keep the rodents out and the wind from creating a nuisance. First off the damper has a small return of material around the three edges, this makes it almost impossible for a squirrels finger nails to get anything to grip on to open it, as well as a bird beak. There are two small magnets in each corner of the damper that creates a slight hold on the door to hold the door closed when it is not in operation, and this minimized the chance that the damper could "bang" in the wind. There are also two rubber bumpers that the damper rests on and also minimizes any sound it could produce by closing.

Q: Can this product be used for bathroom exhaust fans as well as dryers?
Asked by:  - 5/16/2014 (Submit an answer)
A: I just installed one for a basement bath fan. The fan puts out 65-70cfm. Exhaust is routed through about 30 feet of 4" pipe with one 90 degree turn. The flap on the dryer vent opens about half way. Airflow does not seem to be restricted at all.

Answer provided by:
A: This wall vent can and has been used for exhaust fans, but we recommend a minimal 65 CFM of air flow. Most of the inexpensive and smaller fans only produce about 50 CFM. Dryers produce about 200 CFM. Hope this helps.

Q: How well does it perform under winter conditions? Snow, ice, extreme cold etc.
Asked by:  - 5/21/2014 (Submit an answer)
A: Good question Frank. Perhaps the best way to answer that, and this is from us the manufacturer; The wall vent has been on the market long enough to have made it through two winter seasons and to date we have not taken a call mentioning any inefficiencies or malfunctions due to extreme cold conditions. Total sales are sufficient enough to gain confidence that the product works in these extreme cases.

Great item
I am sick of plastic dryer vents cracking and discoloring in the MI seasons. They don't last. I had one on the house I needed to replace as well as add a bath fan exhaust. I was actually looking for something else when I stumbled across Dryer Vent's website. Glad I did. I now have two premium vents that are low profile. I like this as they are right beside my deck and people would notice our old one that was broken and clogged with dryer lint. Ugh! Not any more thanks to Dryer Vent! I spray painted mine with grey primer and will go over them in the spring to color match the house once we have it power washed. I have zero complaints about the product and look forward to many years of trouble-free usage.

Nice vent. Quality looks and function
After seeing an ad in Fine Homebuilding, I purchased this to replace my cheap plastic vent which was broken and sloppily installed. This new vent looks great and functions better than the plastic cheapies. My advice is to plan your project. Think about how you might mount this vent, like using a mounting block, and how you will seal the vent through your opening and around the outside. It is a quality product and deserves the best installation. Make sure you do it right!

Well made vent
After 2 less expensive plastic louver style dryer vents cracked and broke I decided to buy something more substantial. This is a metal vent that uses magnets to keep the flap door closed when dryer is not in use. It is well made and easy to install. Well worth the price. No need to paint.

The best I have ever seen
Finally someone has brought some quality construction to this specialized yet ubiquitous item. I was used to replacing dryer vents every couple of years due to the cheap plastic or sheet metal designs available. This vent is much superior to the others, and I am hoping that it will last a commensurately longer time.Got a brick or block wall, be sure to get the PVC mounting block.

Heavy Duty Dryer Vent
This is a great quality product that is well engineered. The shipping was quick and I was shocked at the heavy-duty nature of the construction. It took a little time to install as the builder flared out the 4” vent pipe causing it to be out of round. I will have no problem with it staying put without the use of mounting screws. The safety aspect of the product balances out the high cost. After winter I will inspect to see how any lint build up affects the operation of the door. I will mention this to my condo association if the product meets my expectations and may be soon buying one for my lake cottage. Reviewed by Virginia from Grand Rapids, MI. on 11/8/2014

Quality product!
I installed this vent as a retrofit after another company's builder grade vent failed. The retrofit aspect was important since I didn't want to tear out a brick wall to reattach. The vent is a quality constructed part. It's attachment matched well with the existing pipe and the install was easy overall. Finished install looks good and works well. The sealing when not in use is excellent. Highly recommend this part. Had to order from manufacturer because its too new to be in stock locally...but that should change in the next few weeks. Worth waiting for if you have to have it shipped :)

Great Product
This is by far the best dryer vent on the market, would highly recommend to anyone. Would be nice if it were more available in stores. A little bit pricey after paying for shipping.
